WILMINGOTN, MA — At their meeting last week, Wilmington School Committee members unanimously accepted a donation of $675 from the Covino family in memory of their son Ryan. Ryan, who passed away unexpecetedly in March, was a former WHS student athlete and Class of 1999 graduate.
In addition, the School Committee unanimously accepted a donation of $5,086 from the Wilmington Educational Foundation through WEF’s Technology Grant Program. Grant recipients included:
- Robyn Barry (West & Boutwell) — Noteflight Learning Subscription
- Roxanne Rene (Shawsheen) — Portable PA System & Youth Choir System
- Michelle LeVesque (West) — 5 ASUS Memo Pad 7″ Tablets
- Larissa LaFuci (Shawsheen) — 4 Chromebooks
- MaryEllen Danahy (Woburn Street) — Makerspace Equipment for School Library
- Laura Stinson (Woburn Street) — Footstep Stream Pedometers for Phys Ed Teachers
The School Committee also unanimously approved the Wilmington High School Marching Band program’s annual 5-day, out-of-state field trip to Bear Island, Meredith in late August for the purpose of conducting a Band Camp.
