POLICE LOG for June 5: 2 Lawrence Men Arrested; Helping Out Tewksbury PD; Car vs. Pole

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are SEVEN highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Sunday, June 5, 2016:

  • Driver Ismael Lopez (31, Lawrence) was arrested for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, obstruction of an emergency vehicle; and possession of a false or stolen RMV document. (2:08am)
  • Passenger Virgilio Guzman (46, Lawrence) was arrested on outstanding warrants. (2:08am)
  • Police assisted the Tewksbury Fire Department with traffic control due to a shed fire on Hill Street in Tewksbury. (4:04am)
  • Police assisted the  Tewksbury Police Department with a suspicious activity call on Livingston Street. Caller reported kids were ducking into bushes when cars drove by. Police checked area and were unable to locate. (4:14am)
  • A green 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee struck a Verizon pole on Salem Street. No injuries reported. Vehicle was towed. (10:00am)
  • A white 2013 Hyundai Elantra and a gray 2015 Chevy Silverado were involved in a crash at Middlesex Avenue and Federal Street. No injuries reported. Both vehicles towed. One driver was giving a red light violation. (10:30am)
  • Police received report that a transformer may have been struck by lightning on Carolyn Road. RMLD was notified. A crew was already on its way. The primary wire to the transformer was down. RMLD repaired. (10:11pm)
