WILMINGTON, MA — Deb Smith. It’s a name synonymous in Wilmington with youth sports. The long-time Wilmington Pop Warner President and coach has made an impact on the lives of a lot – A LOT – of residents, both young and old, since moving to town nearly 20 years ago.
After Smith got some unfortunate health news last month, her legion of fans sprung into action.
Champion’s Choice, for example, is helping the community show its support for Smith by organizing a t-shirt and bracelet fundraiser.
“Deb Smith has been a parent, friend, coach, mentor, volunteer and strong advocate for the youth of not only Wilmington, but many towns and organizations beyond,” writes the business owners. “In May of this year, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and now is the time for all of those who lives she has touched to rally behind her in support.”
Residents are encouraged to purchase a $15 navy blue ‘Property of Deb Smith’t-shirt. The cotton short-sleeve t-shirt is available in various men, women and youth sizes. Residents can also purchase a $5 navy blue/pink ‘Smith Strong’ bracelet. Orders can be placed online HERE and must be done so no later than the end of the day on June 12.
All proceeds will support the Smith family and/or any organization they select.
