POLICE LOG for May 28: Wilmington Man Arrested For 3rd OUI; Police Hand Out Summons

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are SEVEN highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Saturday, May 28, 2016:

  • Police issued a summons for Brendan Avery (24, Weymouth) was using a motor vehicle without permission.  Avery was pulled over in the black 2009 Toyota Corolla on Main Street. He also possessed a cell phone that did not belong to him. (10:51am)
  • A white 2015 Volkswagen and a gray 2009 Chevy Impala were involved in a crash at the Shawsheen School. No injuries reported. (11:15am)
  • Adonis Berzins (61, Wilmington) was arrested for an OUI Liquor (3rd Offense); possessing an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle; and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.  Berzins was involved in a 3-car crash on Burlington Avenue. No injuries reported. (11:19am)
  • Police received complaint of two children unattended in a vehicle in the Target parking lot. Police quickly found the parents. (12:44pm)
  • A Middlesex Avenue resident reported two coyotes were getting very close to his home. The Animal Control Officer will follow up. (3:36pm)
  • An anonymous caller reported that donations were piled up inside the Epilepsy Foundation building, blocking an interior door and sprinkler head. Police referred the issue to Fire Lt. Cavanaugh, who handles fire prevention issues. (4:05pm)
  • Police issued a summons to John Martinez (Chelsea, 54) for operating a motor vehicle with a supposed license and failure to stop. Martinez was pulled over on Burlington Avenue. (7:10pm)
