WILMINGTON, MA — Wilmington High School seniors Kimberly Lifton ($5,000), Samantha Pitzi ($1,000) and Kaila Bavin ($1,000) were the 2016 Wilmington recipients of the John Maguire Memorial Scholarship. The three young ladies were recognized at a ceremony on May 19 at the Woburn Police Department.
John “Jack” Maguire, a Wilmington resident and police officer for the city of Woburn, made the ultimate sacrifice in line of duty on December 26, 2010. A scholarship fund was established in his name and has awarded more than $50,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors from Wilmington High and Woburn High.
