POLICE LOG for May 27: Bullet Found; Kids Out At 3am; Baby Goose Struck By Vehicle

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are SEVEN highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Friday, May 27, 2016:

  • Police received a call of a large group of juveniles in the roadway on Birchwood Road, making noise and riding skateboards. Police responded. Juveniles said they were just “taking a stroll around the neighborhood.”  Police advised them to keep the noise down. (2:52am)
  • A caller reported water was coming from the ground and onto the sidewalk at Whispering Pines on Salem Street. Police notified the Water Department. (5:17am)
  • Police received a report of a baby goose hit by a vehicle near Gym Street USA on Jewel Drive. Bird was still alive and off to the site of the road. Police notified Ringmasters. (9:08am)
  • A white 1999 Ford Taurus struck a mailbox on Nichols Street. Driver was cited for impeded operation, failure to stay in marked lanes, and no inspection sticker. Vehicle was towed. No injuries reported. (1:59pm)
  • A caller reported a Xenon Corporation employee found a bullet in the grass. Caller believed it was left behind after practice from a next-door company. Police retrieved item for destruction. (3:20pm)
  • A caller reported man was stumbling around the Lucci’s parking lot and got into the back of a white van. Police responded. Man won’t be operating vehicle and was picked up by his mother.  Man will make arrangements to have van mood. (7:09pm)
  • Police received report of a black 2016 Kia Soul speeding and doing “donuts” and “burnouts” on Horseshoe Lane. (7:25pm)
