HOPKINTON, MA — At its 50th Annual Institute Conference in Brewster this May, Mary C. DeLai, Superintendent of the Wilmington Public Schools, was presented the MASBO President’s Award by 2015-2016 President Joanne Blier. The President’s Award recognizes an individual who has contributed to the group and improved of the Massachusetts Association of School Business Officials (MASBO).
Mary DeLai is the 24th recipient of the MASBO President’s Award. The previous recipients include many of the individuals who, as Past President Brian Allen has previously commented, “have made MASBO the organization that it is today.”
The President’s award is given in recognition of an individual’s outstanding contribution to his or her school system, community, and/or to MASBO. President Joanne Blier referenced Mary’s deep-seeded commitment to the organization, which has transcended her acceptance of a school superintendency in Wilmington during the past two years. Mary’s commitment included her primary role in the development of MASBO’s five-year Strategic Plan, as well as her dual organizational leadership as MASBO President during her first year as a school superintendent.
The President’s Award is sponsored by RISO, Inc., a vendor affiliate organization of MASBO, which provides a $1,000 honorarium to Mary for use by her district.
