POLICE LOG for May 25: Teen Vaping On School Grounds; Cemetery Theft; Car Fire

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are ELEVEN highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Wednesday, May 25, 2016:

  • A caller complained of a loud party on Fiorenza Drive. Police responded. Homeowner said he would take the party inside for the night. (12:33am)
  • Fire Department responded to a chimney fire on Elizabeth Drive. (8:31am)
  • A Border Avenue caller reported yesterday that a suspicious woman was walking around their house, looking in windows. When confronted, the woman stated she was there to a view an apartment for rent. Police advised homeowner to call police if she returned. (10:56am)
  • K9 Ridic underwent training at the Harden Tavern on Salem Street. (11:43am)
  • A Main Street resident found one bullet in the basement. Police retrieved it for disposal. (11:52am)
  • Police received report of flowers taken from a gravesite in the Wildwood Cemetery. (12:04pm)
  • A caller reported dirt bikes were operating with excessive speed on Dorchester Street. By the time the police arrived, the bikers were gone. (3:58pm)
  • A caller reported a deceased groundhog on Lawrence Street. Police notified the Animal Control Officer. (4:19pm)
  • A walk-in party reported a duck at Rotary Park had a fish hook through its leg. The dug doesn’t seem to be in distressed, but individual wanted the Animal Control Officer notified. (5:21pm)
  • A green 1969 Chevy Camaro suffered a car fire on Jefferson Road. Fire and police responded. Prior to the Fire Department’s arrival, the owner of the vehicle was able to extinguish the flames. (5:44pm)
  • Police spoke to a juvenile using a vaping device on school property at the Shawsheen Skate Park. Juvenile chose to leave the vicinity. (6:39pm)
