WILMINGTON POLICE LOG (Week of May 15, 2016)

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for the week of Sunday, May 15, 2016.

Sunday, May 15:

  • Missing juveniles returned to Milestone Group Home on High Street. (2:17am)
  • A gray 1999 Lincoln Continental and a white 2008 Lexus were involved in a car accident in the Market Basket parking lot. (10:45am)
  • K9 Ridic did a demo at The Barkery in Tewksbury. (11:28am)
  • Police received three 911 hangups from Milestone Group Home. Police spoke with staff, who confirmed no emergency and took accessible phones away from residents. (4:18pm)
  • A juvenile from Milestone Group Home was reported missing at 6:26pm. Juvenile was last seen at 4:10pm. (6:26pm)
  • Michelle M. Morneault (43, Burlington) was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license and speeding. (7:32pm)
  • A caller reported suspicious behavior with a running car parked in the parking lot of Michael’s Place for over an hour. Police responded. Driver and passenger were watching a TV show in the car. Police told them to move along. (9:51pm)

Monday, May 16:

  • Police observed a woman climbing into dumpsters on Woburn Street. She was sent on her way. (10:22am)
  • Fire Department reported a large branch in the road on Fordham Road. Police notified DPW. (10:39am)
  • Police received report of a hit and run between a gray 2011 Honda CRV and a white 2006 Ford F350 in the parking lot of Dunkin Donuts on Middlesex Avenue. Truck took off towards North Reading on Route 62. Owner of truck later came to station to provide information. (12:51pm)
  • Police received report of a female brandished a small older model firearm, in a holster, then put it in her pocket. She’s currently in the parking lot with a man in a white 2011 Cadillac at A1 Prime on Main Street.  Police responded, detained the individuals, and brought them to the station for questioning. It appears no summons were issued or arrests made. (2:52pm)
  • A Butters Row resident requested extra patrols in the area due to motorcycles traveling at high rate of speed. (4:13pm)
  • An anonymous caller reported two boys fighting in the skate park on Shawsheen Street — a white teen wearing a grey hoodie and a black teen.  Police responded and found no disturbance. (4:20pm)
  • Police assisted the Fire Department with a brush fire on Main Street. (5:55pm)
  • A mother reported her son’s backpack was stolen from McDonald’s around 4:30pm. (6:17pm)
  • K9 Ridic conducted a demo at the Shriners Auditorium. (7:09pm)
  • A white 2012 Volkswagen GTI was involved in a crash at Chestnut Street and Hillside Way, damaging a rock wall. No injuries reported. Vehicle towed. Operator and passenger picked up by parent. Operator given citation for speeding and marked lanes violation. (9:22pm)
  • A missing juvenile was reported from Milestone Group Home on Main Street. (9:51pm)

Tuesday, May 17:

  • Milestone Group Home on High Street reported several youths missing. (9:17am)
  • A caller reported yesterday afternoon, while driving across the train tracks on Concord Street, he was nearly struck by an MBTA pickup truck driving on the rail system. Caller said the railroad crossing signs were never activated. Police notified MBTA. (9:36am)
  • A South Street caller reported a couch was left on her lawn. Police notified the Highway Department for removal. (10:51am)
  • A caller reported a white jeep was tailgating and passing several cars on Main Street. Vehicle was last seen pulling into Salvation Army parking lot. Police spoke with driver and advised them to drive with caution. (11:36am)
  • Police assisted the North Reading Police in locating a vehicle at the Shell Gas Station on Middlesex Avenue that was involved in a hit & run earlier in the day. (2:22pm)
  • Another youth was reported missing from Milestone Group Home on High Street. (11:22pm)

Wednesday, May 18:

  • Police received reports of a man stumbling around in the street at Chestnut Street and Burlington Avenue. Police were unable to locate the man. (7:13am)
  • A caller stated a white man, approximately 40, wearing an eskimo hat, sun glasses and leather jacket was acting suspicious inside Lucci’s on Lowell Street. A second caller reported the man was being loud and vulgar. Police responded. Man left the store. Police spoke with man, who was walking towards Reading.  He said he was “leaving for Canada.”  Police sent him on his way, asking that he remain calm during his travel. Police also notified Reading Police. (7:41am)
  • A caller reported five ducklings fell into a storm drain on Lowell Street near Michael’s Place. Police notified DPW as the Animal Control Officer was off. (8:07am)
  • A gray 2015 Infiniti and a red 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee were involved in a crash on Middlesex Avenue. No injuries reported. Airbags deployed. Both vehicles towed. (10:01am)
  • A Gunderson Road caller reported a man as taking pictures of houses in the neighborhood. Man was in an older green sedan.  Vehicle was gone by the time police arrived. (10:16am)
  • A dead rabbit was reported in the middle of the road on Federal Street. (10:59am)
  • Police received report of a man outside As Good As It Gets on Main Street, yelling. Police responded. Man was found walking down Route 38 and had calmed down. (12:09pm)
  • A Faulkner Avenue caller reported he found a bag of marijuana in his yard and would like an officer to take it. Police responded and brought the small amount of marijuana back to the station for destruction. (3:01pm)
  • A gray 2015 Chevy Impala and a brown 2005 Ford F150 were involved in a crash near Mr. Ticket on Lowell Street. No injuries reported. (5:35pm)
  • Tewksbury Police requested an officer speak with a man walking a pit pull on Grove Avenue that may match the description of a man that pulled a knife on Livingston Street in Tewksbury. Police were unable to locate. (6:46pm)
  • Police assisted the Fire Department with a brush fire on Evergreen Drive. (7:15pm)
  • A caller reported that his Mill Road home was egged. (9:39pm)

Thursday, May 19:

  • Julian Q. Teixeira (42, Peabody) was issued a summons for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and speeding. Teixeira was pulled over on Woburn Street. (8:18am)
  • Milestone Group Home on High Street reported two residents have left the program on foot. (8:49am)
  • Cement truck from Benevento’s took down phone and cable wires from home on Grace Drive. Police notified Verizon. Company addressed issue with resident. (10:44am)
  • A resident requested extra patrols in the area of Federal Street and Woburn Street because cars are failing to yield to pedestrians in the crosswalk. (12:33pm)
  • A hypodermic needle was found in front of Citizens Bank on Main Street. Police relieved for disposal. (12:34pm)
  • A caller reported his unlocked vehicle was entered and his sweatshirt, containing prescription drugs, was taken. (1:12pm)
  • A Woburn Street resident reported that her neighbor videotapes her family and property. Police advised caller to contact station next time it occurs. (1:25pm)
  • Jonathan Brown (27, Plaistow) was arrested for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and having an unregistered motor vehicle. Brown was pulled over on Middlesex Avenue. (2:03pm)
  • Fire Department responded to a shed fire on Patches Pond Lane. Shed was fully involved. Fire was put out and shed was knocked down.(2:23pm)
  •  A caller reported he was tailgated by a white 2015 Toyota Rav4. The vehicle followed hims home, and when the caller confronted the driver, the driver attempted to pull him into his vehicle. (7:02pm)
  • Robert Passariello (28, East Boston) was placed in protective custody. Police observed him acting strangely in an ATM at Eastern Bank on Main Street. (7:21pm)

Friday, May 20:

  • A Nottingham Drive caller reported a vehicle drove into the cul de sac and threw something a neighbor’s house. Caller was unsure what was thrown. Police checked area. No item was found and no damage was visible. (1:33am)
  • A First Avenue caller reported a tractor trailer was idling in a parking lot on Waltham Street, near her bay window. Police responded and spoke with driver, who shut the vehicle down for the night. (2:14am)
  • A juvenile was reported missing from Milestone Group Home on High Street. (2:48am)
  • Police received a report of a man disheveled stumbling down Lowell Street. Police located man and gave him a ride to his mother’s house. (8:55am)
  • A caller reported his blue 2006 Toyota Sienna was broken into while on Main Street. Registration was taken from vehicle. (1:16pm)
  • A blue 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle and a white Lexus were involved in a crash on Shawsheen Avenue. No injuries reported. (2:20pm)
  • A walk-in party reported he lost his wallet, possibly at Rotary Park. (3:00pm)
  • A caller reported a sewer cover was missing at Shawsheen Avenue and Nassau Avenue. Police notified DPW. (7:51pm)

Saturday, May 21:

  • Police received two calls that someone was throwing bottles at Town Beach. Police responded and were unable to locate the individual or any bottles. (12:43am)
  • A juvenile was reported missing from the Milestone Group Home on High Street. (1:04am)
  • A Taft Road caller reported his television was stolen sometime overnight. Caller later realized his granddaughter had simply moved the TV upstairs. (6:26am)
  • Animal Control Officer and DPW rescued ducklings from a sewer drain on Main Street. (1:28pm)
  • Police received report of a woman in the parking lot at Savers going car to car, asking for money. Police responded, but were unable to locate the woman. (2:31pm)
  • A Moore Street resident reported 2 individuals were yelling at her door after an argument at a yard sale. Police restored the peace. Argument was over a jewelry box and a $17 discrepancy. Neither parties wanted to pursue charges or have any further police involvement. (4:04pm)
