WILMINGTON, MA — The WHS Varsity Softball Team (11-6) defeated Lawrence, 11-7, on Monday evening at the Town Park, then fell to Burlington, 3-2, at Marvin Field in Burlington on Wednesday afternoon.
In the Lawrence win, Shannon Horgan led the Wildcats offensively with a triple, double and 4 RBI.
In the Burlington loss, Wilmington’s prolific offense was finally cooled off after an extended hot streak. Jen Dovidio still managed to go 2-for-3 with a triple and two runs. Shannon Horgan was responsible for knocking in both RBIs. Adele Burton cranked out two doubles, but was left stranded on base both times.
NEXT UP: The WHS Softball Team (11-6) takes on Ipswich High on Friday, May 28 at 3:30pm at Bialek Park in Ipswich. on Monday, May 23 at 6pm at Town Park (Route 38).
