POLICE LOG for May 18: Disturbance At Lucci’s, Pot Found In Yard, Ducklings In Drain

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are TWELVE highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Wednesday, May 18, 2016:

  • Police received reports of a man stumbling around in the street at Chestnut Street and Burlington Avenue. Police were unable to locate the man. (7:13am)
  • A caller stated a white man, approximately 40, wearing an eskimo hat, sun glasses and leather jacket was acting suspicious inside Lucci’s on Lowell Street. A second caller reported the man was being loud and vulgar. Police responded. Man left the store. Police spoke with man, who was walking towards Reading.  He said he was “leaving for Canada.”  Police sent him on his way, asking that he remain calm during his travel. Police also notified Reading Police. (7:41am)
  • A caller reported five ducklings fell into a storm drain on Lowell Street near Michael’s Place. Police notified DPW as the Animal Control Officer was off. (8:07am)
  • A gray 2015 Infiniti and a red 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee were involved in a crash on Middlesex Avenue. No injuries reported. Airbags deployed. Both vehicles towed. (10:01am)
  • A Gunderson Road caller reported a man as taking pictures of houses in the neighborhood. Man was in an older green sedan.  Vehicle was gone by the time police arrived. (10:16am)
  • A dead rabbit was reported in the middle of the road on Federal Street. (10:59am)
  • Police received report of a man outside As Good As It Gets on Main Street, yelling. Police responded. Man was found walking down Route 38 and had calmed down. (12:09pm)
  • A Faulkner Avenue caller reported he found a bag of marijuana in his yard and would like an officer to take it. Police responded and brought the small amount of marijuana back to the station for destruction. (3:01pm)
  • A gray 2015 Chevy Impala and a brown 2005 Ford F150 were involved in a crash near Mr. Ticket on Lowell Street. No injuries reported. (5:35pm)
  • Tewksbury Police requested an officer speak with a man walking a pit pull on Grove Avenue that may match the description of a man that pulled a knife on Livingston Street in Tewksbury. Police were unable to locate. (6:46pm)
  • Police assisted the Fire Department with a brush fire on Evergreen Drive. (7:15pm)
  • A caller reported that his Mill Road home was egged. (9:39pm)
