POLICE LOG for May 17: Near Collision At Railroad Crossing; Hit & Run; Missing Teens

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are SIX highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Tuesday, May 17, 2016:

  • Milestone Group Home on High Street reported several youths missing. (9:17am)
  • A caller reported yesterday afternoon, while driving across the train tracks on Concord Street, he was nearly struck by an MBTA pickup truck driving on the rail system. Caller said the railroad crossing signs were never activated. Police notified MBTA. (9:36am)
  • A South Street caller reported a couch was left on her lawn. Police notified the Highway Department for removal. (10:51am)
  • A caller reported a white jeep was tailgating and passing several cars on Main Street. Vehicle was last seen pulling into Salvation Army parking lot. Police spoke with driver and advised them to drive with caution. (11:36am)
  • Police assisted the North Reading Police in locating a vehicle at the Shell Gas Station on Middlesex Avenue that was involved in a hit & run earlier in the day. (2:22pm)
  • Another youth was reported missing from Milestone Group Home on High Street. (11:22pm)
