WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Fourth of July Committee has just released the schedule for the 2016 Wilmington Fun on the Fourth.
The celebration will be held on and around the Wilmington Town Common from Thursday, June 30 to Sunday, July 3.
The carnival, located in the old Swain School parking lot, will run from 5pm to 9pm on Thursday; 5pm to 9pm on Friday; noon to 10pm on Saturday; and 1pm to 8pm on Sunday.
This fireworks display will take place on Saturday, July 2 at 9:30pm.
Meals will be provided by the Rotary Club (BBQ Dinner on Thursday); Wilmington Minutemen (Spaghetti & Meatball Dinner on Friday); Knights of Columbus (Pancakes, Waffles & Eggs Breakfast on Saturday); and Friendship Lodge (Sausage, Peppers & Onions on Saturday).
Concerts will be performed by the WHS Alumni Band, Bailout, Haverty Brothers Band, and the Windham Community Band.
Longtime traditions — like the 3-on-3 basketball competition (back after a hiatus), horseshoes, road race, ladies 2-mile walk, hospital bed race, and blueberry pie eating contest — all return.
The Committee also released the schedule for the Wilmington Family Day on Saturday, July 2.
