WILDCAT WAKEUP: WHS Girls Tennis Snaps Losing Streak

WILMINGTON, MA —The WHS Girls Varsity Tennis Team (4-11) snapped its 7-game losing streak with a big 5-0 win against Stoneham at Wilmington High on Monday afternoon.

  • Wilmington freshman Emily Hill defeated Stefani Molinaro, 6-o, 6-0.
  • Wilmington junior Sam Maragioglio defeated Louisa Melchionno, 6-1, 6-2.
  • Wilmington senior Jess Nussbaum defeated Erin Cleary, 6-3, 6-1.
  • Wilmington seniors Mary Lesperance and Vanessa D’Angelo defeated Julliana Choi and Sarah Tah, 6-2, 6-1.
  • Wilmington seniors Ruju Trivedi and Trystan Surprenant defeated Haley Clapp and Elizabeth Cullen, 6-4, 6-2.

The WHS Girls Varsity Tennis Team (4-11) then dropped a match-up against Wakefield, 3-2, in Wakefield on Tuesday afternoon.

  • Wilmington freshman Emily Hill fell to Sarah Stumpf, 6-3, 6-4.
  • Wilmington junior Sam Maragioglio fell to Grace Hurley, 6-1, 6-1.
  • Wilmington senior Jess Nussbaum fell to Abby Chapman, 6-0, 6-2.
  • Wilmington juniors Christina Woods and Lou Schramm defeated Molly Whtison & Darcy Drago, 7-3, 6-3.
  • Wilmington sophomore Fariha Hague and freshman Lia Kourkoutos fell to Jenna Mello and Haley Tannerd, 6-4, 6-1.
