SACO, ME — Alice C. Chase, 91, formerly of Dolly Farm, Westbrook, passed away Monday May 16, 2016, at the Evergreen Manor in Saco.
She was born in Everett, Mass. Sept. 4, 1924, the daughter of William and Margaret Lavery Killam.
Alice attended Wilmington, Mass. schools and later lived and worked in Massachusetts.
Alice married and moved to Maine, then New Jersey. In 1989, she returned to Maine to live permanently. She enjoyed crocheting and reading.
She is predeceased by her husband Sydney in 2003; a son J. William Chase and a daughter Susan Startzel.
She is survived by one son Irving F. Witham of San Jose, Calif., two daughters Claire Newton of Saco and Margaret Harmon; several grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
A private family service will be held at a later date at Dunston Cemetery in Scarborough, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Sydney.
