WILMINGTON, MA — The WHS Varsity Softball Team (8-4) rolled Watertown, 13-1, on Monday night at Wilmington’s Town Park.
Brittany Garrard led the way for the Wilmington, going 3-for-4 with 4 RBI. Makayla Donahue and Jen Dovidio each recorded a triple and an RBI. Dana Goulet produced 2 RBI.
Freshman pitcher Gianna Brunetto made her varsity debut, pitching a scoreless final inning.
The WHS Varsity Softball Team followed up the blowout of Watertown on Monday night with a blowout victory against Somerville on Tuesday afternoon at Wilmington Town Park. The game was called after 5 innings with a final score of 18 to 6.
The Wildcats scored their 18 runs on 14 hits, including home runs from Dana Goulet and Liz Gordon; triples from Goulet, Gordon and Adele Burton; and doubles from Makayla Donahue, Shannon Horgan and Teresa Gracia. Jen Dovidio reached base five times and scored four runs.
NEXT UP: The WHS Softball Team (8-4), which have won 8 of its last 9, takes on Stoneham on Wednesday, May 18 at 3:45pm at Stoneham High.
