WILMINGTON, MA — Here are FIVE things to do today in Wilmington on Wednesday, May 18, 2016.
#1) The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is holding FOUR programs — Device Drop-In (2pm-3pm), Star Mag (3:45pm-4:45pm); Egg Drop Challenge: Family Edition (6:30pm-7:30pm); and Digital Security (7pm-8pm). Learn more and, if necessary, register HERE.
#2) There are several Wilmington High varsity sports teams in action:
- WHS Boys Tennis vs. Burlington — 3:30pm — Wilmington High School
- WHS Girls Tennis @ Burlington — 3:30pm — Rahanis Park (Burlington)
- WHS Softball @ Stoneham — 3:45pm — Stoneham High School
- WHS Baseball @ Stoneham — 3:45pm — Stoneham High School
- WHS Boys Lacrosse @ Lynnfield — 4pm — Lynnfield High School
- WHS Girls Lacrosse vs. Watertown — 5pm — Wilmington High School
#3) The Wilmington Senior Center (15 School Street) is holding its normal Wednesday activities — SBF Exercise (9:45am); Special Exercise (11am); and Country Line Dancing (1pm).
#4) The Wilmington Police Department offers safety seat installs at the Wilmington Public Safety Building (1 Adelaide Street) every Wednesday, 10am-2pm. No appointment is necessary, but calling ahead at 978-658-5071 is recommended. Learn more HERE.
#5) The Friends of the Wilmington Memorial Library’s Book Store Next Door (183 Middlesex Avenue) is open from 10am to 4pm. All books are $2 or less! Every penny of every sale benefits the Wilmington Memorial Library. Learn more HERE.
PLUS: The Town’s Yard Waste Center, located off Old Main Street on the Wilmington/Woburn line, is open from 8am to 2pm.
PLUS: Silver Lake will be treated for milfoil today. There is a one-day recommendation of no swimming, boating or fishing. There is also a five-day restriction on drinking, cooking or irrigating with lake water.
