POLICE LOG for May 10: Fire Dept. Evacuates School; Car vs. Motorcycle; Toilet-Papering Prank

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are NINE highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Tuesday, May 10, 2016:

  • A caller reported a cement truck from Benevento Sand & Stone spilling concrete as it drove on Salem Street. Company was contacted and sent a crew to clean up the debris. (5:53am)
  • Matthew Astuti (22, Tewksbury) was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license; operating a motor vehicle with a revoked registration; and operating an uninsured vehicle. Astuti was pulled over on Salem Street. (10:02am)
  • Fire Department responded to reports of a strong odor of gas at the Shawsheen Elementary School. School was evacuated as a precaution. Fire Department cleared the building. (1:52pm)
  • Police covered crossing guard duties at the high school. (1:54pm)
  • A brown 2005 Toyota Sienna and a black 2013 motorcycle were involved in a crash at Route 62 and Castle Drive. No injuries reported. Motorcycle was towed. (2:56pm)
  • 3 juveniles were reported missing from the Milestone Group Home on High Street. (4:51pm)
  • A caller reported juveniles were riding dirt bikes down Beech Street. Police responded. Residents denied using the bikes. They were advised not to on the street. (5:18pm)
  • A Bay Street caller reported a group of juveniles were toilet-papering house across the street.  Juveniles were gone when the police arrived. Police spoke with homeowner who said the toilet-papering may be related to his two high school-aged kids. (9:23pm)
  • Police officer noticed the 30 MPH speed limit sign was missing at Lowell Street and Main Street. DPW notified. (10:04pm)
