POLICE LOG for May 2: Lowell Woman Panhandling At Plaza; Car Crash With Injury; Man Drinking Behind Wheel

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are NINE highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Monday, May 2, 2016:

  • An Oakdale Road caller reported he believes there were squirrels in his attic. He was given the numbers for local companies who can assist him. (9:45am)
  • A caller reported a woman was asking for money and waking through the Savers parking lot, looking into vehicles. She was described as in her 40’s with brown hair, wearing a black jacket. Police spoke with the woman and determined she was not attempting to gain access to any vehicles. (10:01am)
  • Manager at Dollar Tree reported a woman was asking customers for money in the parking lot. Police spoke with the manager and advised of the procedure to attain a no trespass order.  Police located woman in front of Ride Aid and spoke to manager there, advising them of the no trespass procedure. Police moved the woman along, who then waited for a bus back to Lowell. (11:14am)
  • A caller reported a gas attendant at Super Petroleum on Main Street over pumped and was now yelling at her. Police responded and restored the police. (12:07pm)
  • A white 2003 Ford Focus and a gray 2006 Honda Accord were involved in a minor crash on Main Street. No injuries reported. (3:32pm)
  • A white 2014 Honda CRV and gray 2006 Cadillac were involved in a crash near Lucci’s Supermarket on Lowell Street. Operator of the CRV was taken by abumblance to Lahey, complaining of chest pains. (4:48pm)
  • A boy’s Huffy BMX bike was found at Rotary Park. Police posted picture on social media. Bike’s owner picked up at station. (5:26pm)
  • A caller reported watching an operator of a vehicle in the parking lot of Colonial Park Liquors consuming alcohol while sitting in the car. Police responded. Police transported man to the station to wait for a ride. Car will remain in parking lot for night. (6:25pm)
  • Lights in front of the plaza were malfunctioning. Police notified Mass Highway. (10:32pm)
