WILDCAT WAKEUP: WHS Softball Wins 5th Straight With Huge Comeback Victory

WILMINGTON, MA — The WHS Varsity Softball Team (5-3) defeated Winchester, 13-6, at Wilmington Town Park on Friday night for their fifth consecutive victory.

Wilmington fell behind early, with Winchester scoring four times in the top of first, but Wilmington would eventually tie the game at five in the bottom of the fourth.

In the top of fifth inning, Winchester loaded the bases with no outs, but pitcher Ally Moran gave her team a lift, striking out two batters and inducing an infield pop-up to end the inning.

For the remainder of the game, the Wildcats would go on to score 8 more runs, while keeping Winchester to just one run.

Jen Dovidio led the way offensively for the Wildcats, reaching base in all 5 plate appearances and scoring 4 runs.  Shannon Horgan (3 RBI), Makayla Donahue (2 RBI), and Brittany Garrard (3 runs) were also instrumental in the win.

NEXT UP: The WHS Softball Team (5-3) takes on Reading on Monday, May 9 at 6pm at Wilmington Town Park.
