WILMINGTON, MA — Here are ELEVEN highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Wednesday, April 27, 2016:
- A sick fox was reported on Concord Street. Animal Control Officer was unable to locate. North Reading Police called saying the fox was actually in their own and requested advice from Animal Control Officer. (8:15am)
- An Andover Street resident requested an officer to view vehicles that have been egged. An SUV was egged last night. A Corvette was egged the night before. (9:45am)
- Police received report of a Benevento concert truck spilt some concrete on the roadway at Burlington Avenue and Chestnut Street. Benevento was contacted and sent a crew to clean the spill. (9:52am)
- Police installed several car seats throughout the day.
- A resident reported a suspicious man in his 30’s wearing hospital pants and a sweatshirt was in the woods off of Boutwell Street. A second call reported the man is now walking towards Aldrich Road. Police checked the area and was unable to locate. (11:40am)
- A Fairmont Road resident reported a raccoon is in his shed. Animal Control Officer assisted in getting the animal out. (1:16pm)
- A Marion Street resident reported having ongoing issues with kids in the neighborhood. She stated she just arrived home and believe kids were shooting BB guns at her vehicle and residence. Police responded and confiscated an airlift rifle and BB gun from the kids. Officer left a message for the kids’ parents. (2:51pm)
- Fire Department handled a brush fire near the football field behind Town Hall. (3:31pm, 4:36pm)
- A resident found two hypodermic needles on Everett Avenue. Police retrieved for disposal. (4:50pm)
- Fire Department responded to a dryer fire in their own gear room. (5:42pm)
- A caller reported that at approximately 8:15pm, they witnessed a person on the roof of the Boutwell school throw something down to a person standing the lot next to a dark sedan. Police notified DPW, who checks the roof, which had no damage. (9:52pm)
