27 WHS Students Earn National Spanish Exam Awards

WILMINGTON, MA — Congratulations to a multitude of the world langue students from Wilmington High School who attain national recognition for excellent performance on the 2016 National Spanish Examinations.

Students in Grades 9-12 earned a total of 1 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze medals, along with 22 honorable mentions.

Gold Medal Winner:

Bronze Medal Winner:

The National Spanish Examination is administrated nationwide each year in grades 6 through 12, and is sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP).

“Attaining a medal or honorable mention for any student on the National Spanish Examination is very prestigious,” said Kevin Cessna-Buscemi, National Director of Exams,” because “the exams are the largest of their kind in the United States with over 160,000 students participating  2016.”
