Registration begins 30 days prior to the event. Welcome to Wilmington Reception
Monday, May 2, 6:30 pm -7:30 pm
Are you new to Wilmington or have you lived here for a while and wish to know more about the community? Then please come to the Welcome to Wilmington Reception. Town Departments, community group representatives and local businesses will be on hand to welcome you and answer questions.  This program is in collaboration with the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce

Adult Coloring Group
Monday, May 2, 7 pm
Join in on the latest craze with our Adult Coloring Group. The group meets the first Monday of the month. No need to register, just drop in.  Bring your own coloring books and pencils, or use ours.

Cookin’ the Books Evening Event*RR
Tuesday, May 3, 6:30 pm
Featured Cookbook: The Broad Fork by Hugh Acheson
This special evening meeting of Cookin’ the Books features The Broad Fork, a seasonal cookbook of 200 recipes designed to make the most of your farmers’ market bounty, your CSA box, or your grocery produce aisle.  Please stop by the library to pick up a copy of The Broad Fork (or find a recipe from the book online), select a recipe, and then email your recipe selection to book club leader Lisa Crispin (lcrispin@mvlc.org). Bring your dish to the meeting, enjoy sampling everyone’s dishes, and enjoy the company.

Star Wars Day: May the 4th be with you!

Calling all Star Wars enthusiasts! “May the 4th be with you” Come to the library to celebrate Star Wars Day with a trivia contest. Meet a few characters from the film and purchase a raffle ticket for a chance to take one home with you.  The “characters” will be in the library starting mid-April, so stop by early to say hello.

Featured Book: Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell
A social book group geared towards readers in their 20’s and 30’s.  The group meets on the first Thursday of every other month.  The book discussion is hosted by librarians from the Wilmington and Reading Public Libraries. The group will meet at the Golden Ginger in Wilmington on May 5.

Striped Bass Fishing the North Shore *RR
Thursday, May 5, 7 pm

Fishing enthusiast, guide and outdoor writer Allan Butler will share the best locations from Salisbury to Boston along with fishing techniques and tips for catching Striped Bass.  Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned angler, you will find new places to fish and different techniques to use. Please bring a map and something to mark it with.

Wednesday, May 4, 6:30 pm
A family concert featuring sing-along, laugh-a-lot musical fun for all ages! Steve presents award-winning songs & stories that warm the heart, tickle the funny bone, and inspire the imagination–with lots of audience participation. All ages.

LEGO Building
Thursday, May 5, 3:45 pm
Build a unique LEGO creation.  Each month there will be a different theme.  Kindergarten+

Drop-In Storytime
Friday, May 6, 10 am
Drop in for stories, songs, rhymes and a fun craft! Space is limited, tickets will be distributed on first-come, first served basis. Ages: 2-5 and one or more adults.

Mother/Daughter Paint Night *RR
Friday, May 6, 6:30 – 8:30 pm
Cost $15 per mother-daughter group (grades 6 -12)
Celebrate Mother’s Day by creating adorable mother-daughter owl paintings using acrylic on black canvas. This special after-hours workshop is led by local artist Sherry Hoffman.  Grades 6 to 12.

Library News

Yard Sale June 11
Applications for the library’s second annual Town Wide Yard sale are now available at the library and online. Your $15 buys one large sign and two directional signs, lots of free advertising and a place on the Town Wide Yard Sale Map that will be available to buyers in print and on the library’s website. Get rid of your stuff and join in this fun community event!
