WILMINGTON, MA — Here are ELEVEN highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Wednesday, April 20, 2016:
- Police Department notified the Water Department that water was coming up through the ground by the gate at Butters Row and Main Street, causing a large amount of water to pool on the road. (4:13am)
- A tractor trailer driver reported his unit was struck by a car trying to pass him on Ballardvale Street. Vehicle stopped, but then took off once caller approached. Police confirmed minor damage to right side of the tractor trailer. Police was able to locate the vehicle in question at Fed Ex. (7:10am)
- A Woburn Street caller reported two of his vans were spray painted overnight. (10:28am)
- Animal Control Officer retrieved a deceased rabbit from the roadway on Church Street. (12:53pm)
- A white 2000 Chevy Malibu and a black 2009 Toyota Rav4 were involved in a crash on Main Street, near Savers. Unspecified injuries. Both vehicles were towed. (2:31pm)
- A walk-in party reported their sister forged a check and cashed it. (2:54pm)
- Police retrieved a hypodermic needle on the side of the road at Main Street and Clark Street. (3:15pm)
- A resident requested additional police presence on Butters Row due to speeding in the area. (4:03pm)
- Christopher Cohan (57, Beverly) was issued a summons for operating a motor vehcile with a suspended license and leaving the scene of property damage. Cohan alledgely struck the trailor of a pickup truck near the 93 South exit 40 ramp. (4:23pm)
- Police stood by during a circus protest at the Shriners Auditorium. (6:07pm)
- Town Manager Hull reported a dirt bike went through the Town Hall parking lot and then towards the ball field. Police were unable to locate the driver. (8:46pm)
