WILMINGTON, MA – If people from a local church show up to your house on a Saturday, you might expect them to have a Bible or a pamphlet in hand, and want to talk to you about your faith. But what if they showed up with yard tools, paintbrushes, and work gloves instead?
On Saturday May 7, hundreds of Grace Chapel volunteers, along with volunteers from churches across Wilmington, will flood the community and “take the church to the neighborhood” by spreading a little love…and a little elbow grease, too.
The day’s schedule:
- 7:30am: check in at Grace Chapel
- 8:00am: breakfast at Grace Chapel
- 8:30am: travel to Service Project
- 12:00pm: conclude Service Project (NOTE: Some projects may continue past noon)
Service opportunities range from assisting local towns with community projects, to assisting with home repairs, to serving alongside outreach organizations like the Council on Aging, the Food Pantry, and the Salvation Army.
