POLICE LOG for April 18: Officers Help Out At Marathon; Speeding Complaints; Deer Killed

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are NINE highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Monday, April 18, 2016:

  • Some officers provided mutual aid coverage at the Boston Marathon. (5:08am)
  • Police received report of an older male wearing a red hat hitchhiking on Lowell Street. Police transported the man to the train station. (11:31am)
  • A caller reported her parked 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee was struck while she was in Market Basket. Officer confirmed scrapes on passenger side front quarter panel. (12:36pm)
  • An Eleanor Drive resident reported construction vehicles were operating at an unsafe speed in the area. (1:01pm)
  • A caller at Eastgate Liquors on Lowell Street reported a past larceny. (4:10pm)
  • A Kendall Street caller reported credit card fraud. (5:20pm)
  • A caller requested extra patrols on Chestnut Street and Butters Row due to frequent speeding. (5:31pm)
  • A Sherwood Road resident had his stolen motorcycle returned to him by the National Auto Recovery (N.A.R.). (6:58pm)
  • North Reading Police reported a motorist struck and killed a deer on Salem Street, near the North Reading/Wilmington line. Deer was removed. (9:39pm)
