POLICE LOG for April 15: Robbery Suspect Arrested; B&E Suspect Caught In Act; Motorcycle Stolen

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are TWELVE highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Friday, April 15, 2016:

  • A gray 2016 Honda CRV and a gray 2008 Dodge Avenger were involved in a minor crash on Richmond Street. No injuries reported. (7:12am)
  • Paul Joseph McClung (50, Billerica) was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and no inspection sticker. (9:35am)
  • Police assisted in contacting woman who left purse behind at Market Basket. (9:47am)
  • Police received complaints of tractor trailer units from UniFirst along Jonspin Road. Police advised manager of the complaints. Trucks were moved. (12:46pm)
  • Police arrested David Francis Taylor (33, Woburn) for unarmed robbery, armed robbery, and malicious destruction of property valued at under $250. (12:47pm)
  • Police received report from principal of a suspicious vehicle sitting in the Shawsheen School parking lot near the playground, occupied by a man. Policed responded. Man was a grandfather of a student at the school and was just early for pick-up. (1:31pm)
  • A Morningside Drive resident reported identity fraud (1:59pm)
  • Michael Decowski (29, Lynn) was arrested for breaking & entering a building during the daytime to commit a felony and trespassing. Decowski was observed walking around the parking lot of the Yoga Loft on Lopez Road and looking in vehicles. (2:29pm)
  • A Sherwood Road resident reported his motorcycle was taken from his front yard, possibly within the last half hour. Neighbors saw a young male drive it towards Aldrich Road. (4:44pm)
  • A deceased cat was found on Hopkin Street. (9:04pm)
  • A caller was concerned for the safety of two joggers on Main Street and Eames Street wearing dark clothing. Police were unable to locate the joggers. (9:45pm)
  • A neighbor reported people with flashlights were walking around a vacant house on Dadant Drive. Police responded. Parties claimed they had permission to remove a van from the premises. Police advised them to return in the daytime with the probe paperwork proving permission was granted. (10:00pm)
