POLICE LOG for April 14: 2 Summons Issued; School Bus Complaint; Dump Truck Issues

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are EIGHT highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Thursday, April 14, 2016:

  • Police received report an erratic school bus (bus #16). Caller reported it ran through a stop sign at Woburn Street and Lowell Street and cut off a vehicle causing it to slam on their brakes. Police could not locate bus. (7:38am)
  • A black 2010 Dodge Ram and a black 2012 Ford Escape were involved in a crash on Fordham Road. Only minor damage to vehicles. No injuries reported. (7:55am)
  • Adam Wright (33, North Andover) was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. (11:38am)
  • A 14-wheel dump truck became disabled in the middle of the Salem Street & Woburn Street intersection.  A mechanic arrived and truck was transported to Benvento’s. Police advised driver that if truck could not be fixed onsite, it would need to be towed. (1:02pm)
  • Kasey Melanson (27, Woburn) was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license; unsafe operation of a motor vehicle; and operation of a motor vehicle improperly. (2:26pm)
  • Burger King manager requested an officer. A male customer was attempting a “flimflam scheme.” Police arrived. Parties agreed on the dollar about given and man was sent on his way. (4:38pm)
  • A Glen Road resident found a “suspicious item” in a cooler buried in their yard. Police responded and brought cooler and contents back to station. (7:09pm)
  • Learning Experience employee witnessed several vehicles in lot, with passengers throwing alcoholic beverage containers about. Police responded and did not find any alcoholic beverages. Police advised group to keep the lot clean. (8:51pm)
