Town Moderator Rob Peterson Interviewed On WCTV’s ‘Town Topics’

WILMINGTON, MA — Wilmington Community Television premiered its third episode of “Town Topics,” where Executive Director Shaun Neville interviews Town Department heads and key town officials.

In the latest episode, Neville speaks with Town Moderator Robert Peterson, Jr., who is preparing for the Annual Town Meeting on Saturday, April 30 at 10:30am in the WHS Auditorium.  During the 12-minute interview, questions asked include:

  • What else does the Town Moderator do besides preside over Town Meeting?
  • How much preparation do you put into Town Meetings?
  • When you have people in the crowd that want their voices heard, how do you keep control of that without letting someone dominate the floor for lengthy periods of time or shut out people who may not agree with them?
  • How do you keep things light or ensure people don’t get bored at Town Meeting?
  • Which article(s) stand out to you as ‘big talkers’ at Town Meeting?
  • What was it like moderating the debates at WCTV’s Candidate Night this year?
  • Fun Ones: What’s a TV show you don’t miss an episode of? Given the choice, would you prefer a new pizza place, Dunkin’ Donuts or Subway in town?  What time will Town Meeting end on April 30?
