WANTED: Middlesex DA Seeking Man Accused Of Impersonating An Officer

TEWKSBURY, MA – The Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office and the Massachusetts State Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in connection with an alleged incident of impersonating a police officer.

The suspect is described as a dark skinned Hispanic or Dominican male with no accent, approximately 5’3”, thin face, sunken eyes, 130-140 pounds clean shaven, short tight hair, with stud earrings in each ear. The victim stated that he was wearing a black short sleeve shirt and jeans and had a gold star shaped badge hung around his neck and a silver large face watch on his left wrist.

The suspect is wanted in connection with an incident reported to investigators this month, that occurred in Tewksbury on or about December 2015 or early January 2016, on a Wednesday, in the morning, prior to noon. During the incident, an identified female stated that she was traveling Route 495 North prior to Route 38 when she was stopped by an older model Chevy Impala (2000-2005) which she believed was an unmarked police cruiser. The victim described the vehicle as a black Chevy Impala with dark tinted windows, round tail lights and a spot light. She believed the vehicle was bearing a dealer plate or repair plate. The stop was initiated by the suspect utilizing the spot light to pull her over. The suspect allegedly approached the vehicle and requested the victim’s license and registration. Upon returning to the vehicle, the suspect subsequently assaulted her by inappropriate touching. The victim was able to drive away.

If drivers have questions about the identity of an officer they should call 911 on their cell — if they can do so safely — to immediately be connected to police. They should be prepared to give their location and vehicle description. They also should drive to the nearest police station or fire station if they know where that is.

Anyone that has encountered similar incidents or has any information are asked to please contact The State Police Andover Barracks at (978) 475-3800 or Middlesex State Police Detectives at (781) 897-6621.
