SELECTMEN NEWS: Big Issues To Be Discussed At Monday’s Meeting

WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Board of Selectmen meets this upcoming Monday, April 11 at 7pm at Town Hall in Room 9.

There is a great deal on the agenda, including:

  • The Town will honor Bernie McNally for his dedication to the Wilmington Recreation Department.
  • The Town will honor longtime Selectmen Mike Newhouse and Lou Cimaglia, who are leaving office on April 23.  This will be both men’s final meeting.
  • Selectmen will consider the Police Chief’s request to createa  Firearms Range at Abigail Island.
  • Selectmen will consider the request to add a “Welcome to Wilmington” sign to the Town Common.
  • Selectmen will decide whether to permit Board of Appeals member Dan Veerman to vote on the town’s special permit request to hold a carnival on the Swain School site.  Veerman submitted the requisite disclosure.
  • Selectmen will consider appointing additional town election workers.
  • Selectmen will consider the request of Khalid Hazimeh to obtain a hawk & peddle license to sell ice cream.
  • Selectmen will consider approving the renewal of the secondhand dealer license for Robert Flaherty Jeweler.
  • Veterans Agent Lou Cimaglia will invite Selectmen to participate in the Memorial Day Parade.
  • Town Manager Jeff Hull will share an update on the North Intermediate School’s finished window projects from Assistant Town Manager Kendra Amaral.
  • Town Manager Jeff Hull will provide his recommendations relative to the sale of town-owned land at Town Meeting.
  • Town Manager Jeff Hull will announce if any articles have been withdrawn from the Town Meeting warrant.
  • Selectmen Chair Mike Champoux will present the Board’s 2015 Annual Report.

The meeting will be telecast live by Wilmington Community Television on WCTV-G — Channel 22 on Comcast and Channel 38 on Verizon.  The meeting will also streamed on WCTV’s website HERE.
