OBITUARY: Joan M. (Kooloian) Maggio, 81

WILMINGTON, MA — Joan M. (Koolloian) Maggio, of Wilmington, longtime Chelsea resident, passed away with her family by her bedside on Monday April 4th, 2016.

Beloved wife of the late Anthony P. Maggio.

Devoted mother of Andrea J. DeLuca and her husband John of Wilmington, Sherri Maggio-Sellards of Saugus, and Christopher Maggio of Woburn.

Dear stepmother of Anthony Maggio of Lynn, Denise Curtis of Revere, and Nicholas Maggio of Danvers.

Loving sister of her twin Jean Yeo of Saugus, and the late Joyce Hagan.

Adored grandmother of Michael Britton, Dane Sellards, Nicholas DeLuca and Abby Satrape.

Also survived by her many fond nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor Joan’s life by gathering on Saturday April 9th from 4:00pm to 8:00pm in the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga Street, (Orient Heights) East Boston to share stories and memories of Joan’s life.

In honoring Joan’s life, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Relay For Life.

Joan was born in Lynn on July 3rd, 1934 to the late Azad and Anna Koolloian. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and homemaker, and also worked as a secretary for a Trailer Equipment Company for many years. Joan passed away at home surrounded by her loving and dedicated family by her bedside on Monday morning. She was 81 years of age.

The funeral home is handicapped accessible, and a children’s lounge is available. Courtesy valet parking is located at the front entrance with ample off street parking with attendants in our several parking lots.
