LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Romano Family Supports Caira For Selectman

Dear Editor,

We are writing in support of Kevin Caira, who is running for one of the two open seats in the Selectmen’s race in Wilmington. We have known Kevin and his family for many years and feel that he is the perfect person for the position of selectman.

We first met Kevin through our involvement with the Wilmington Band Parents. He invited us to join the Wilmington Sons of Italy and that is when our friendship flourished. As members of the Band Parents and the Sons of Italy, we have worked closely with Kevin on fundraising events such as our Comedy Night and Town Wide Yard Sale to raise money for both organizations’ scholarship programs. We also are involved with the Sons of Italy Golf Tournament and Easter Bunny Breakfast , of which Kevin is the Chairman.  Both of these events raise money for Alzheimer’s and Cooley’s Anemia. We can attest to his commitment and his compassion to help others. His leadership ability and organizational skills have led these fundraisers to huge successes. Kevin’s volunteer work extends beyond the Band Parents and the Sons of Italy. For the past four years he has served the Town as Vice Chairman of the Yentile Recreational Development Committee. This major project will support both passive and active recreation for our Town residents.

Kevin has the knowledge on how both state and municipal government works. He worked in State government as an administrator for the State Retirement System for over 20 years and is now the Retirement Administrator for the City of Amesbury.

This year’s election is very important for our community.  We believe that his experience in government service, both state and municipal, and his many years of volunteer activity exemplify what we need in a Selectman. We would like to ask the residents of Wilmington to please join us on Saturday, April 23 and cast one of your two votes for Kevin Caira for Wilmington Selectman.

Sincerely,

John and Patricia Romano

Kevin Caira
