Dear Wilmington Residents,
We have an opportunity on Saturday, April 23rd to elect a new and worthy candidate, Greg Bendel, to the Wilmington Board of Selectmen.
I have had the pleasure of knowing Greg as a person and a community volunteer for several years and it is my honor to call him my friend. Over the years, I have continued to observe Greg’s dedication to his family, his friends and to the Town of Wilmington. For as long as I can remember Greg has always had a willingness to support key initiatives and important projects for the betterment of our children, our schools and our community.
A few years ago, I had the opportunity to work with Greg and others as members of the WHS 4.0 Committee. It was a very positive experience working with this entire group of volunteers who were all committed to achieving the one most important goal of making a NEW Wilmington High School a reality. This goal was achieved due to the overwhelming support of all Wilmington residents and due to the volunteer work of people like Greg.
Greg has a long history of impressive accomplishments both personally and professionally. He and his wife Andrea are both lifelong residents of Wilmington and they currently reside here today. As newlyweds, they have made the personal decision to establish roots here in town with the hopes of someday raising a family of their own. Greg is a 2002 graduate of Shawsheen Technical High School and has earned both an Associate’s degree and a Bachelor’s degree from The New England Institute of Art and UMASS Lowell respectively. Greg is currently finishing his Master’s degree from Salem State University. Greg is currently a full time teacher at Shawsheen Technical High School in his eighth year and is the Lead Teacher in the Computer Science Department. Also, Greg is the Head Boys’ Basketball Coach at Shawsheen Tech and he and his players have enjoyed many winning seasons under his leadership. In addition to his teaching and coaching, Greg volunteers his time working with many young student-athletes at clinics and camps every year.
With Greg’s impressive resume along with his personal qualities and attributes, I believe Greg would make an ideal Selectman. Greg is intelligent, articulate, has strong interpersonal skills, is a team player, is a great listener and has the courage and tenacity to take on the most complex issues and render informed decisions. Greg would be a great asset to the Wilmington Board of Selectmen if elected and I know he would work hard to maintain and improve the quality of life for all Wilmington residents to enjoy.
Please join me on Saturday, April 23rd in voting to elect a very deserving candidate, Greg Bendel, to the Wilmington Board of Selectmen. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Judith L. O’Connell
