WILMINGTON, MA — Here are NINE highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Saturday, March 26, 2016:
- Police observed suspicious activity at St. Elizabeth’s Church. Car was parked near the church. Police noticed lights on and noise coming from inside the church. Police entered. There was an individual preparing church for Easter and had permission from the church to be there. (2:21am)
- John DeCosta (19, Billerica) was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and failure to stop/yield. (3:09am)
- Police responded to suspicious activity at Sonny’s Mobil on the Run. A male was asking people for drugs. Police questioned the male, who said he was just joking. Police advised him to vacate the area. (3:57am)
- Police came across a party living out of his car, parked in the 99 Restaurant parking lot. Man was advised of his suspended license status. Man’s car wouldn’t start. Police gave him contact number to local tow truck company. (4:16am)
- K9 Ridic went through some training at the Department of Public Works on Anodver Street. (8:48am)
- Manager of Shell Gas Station on Main Street reported a man entered the store asking for directions. After he left, manager observed security video of him taking several candy bars. Police checked the area and were unable to locate the man. (10:29am)
- David Loais-Carranza (29, Everett) was issued a summons for the unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and failure to yield at an intersection. Loais-Carranza was involved in a 2-vehicle crash at McDonald’s on Main Street. (11:40am)
- A Burlington Avenue caller reported a man was in the bushes next to his house. Police responded. Man was collecting cans. He was advised not to collect cans on other people’s property. (7:05pm)
- Alex DeFarias (33, Tewksbury) was issued a summons for the unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and no inspection sticker. (8:13pm)
