POLICE LOG for March 25: Suspicious Activity Near Power Lines; Wrong Way Driver

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are SEVEN highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Friday, March 25, 2016:

  • Matthew Velasquez (39, North Andover) was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and failure to signal.  Vehicle was towed from Eames Street. (2:47am)
  • A caller reported a large animal was struck by a vehicle on Hopkins Street. Caller was unsure if animal was still alive. Police located a deceased muskrat. Police moved it to the side of the roadway for the Animal Control Officer. (1:54pm)
  • Police observed a gray 2014 Ford Explorer come out from the power lines area on Route 125, finding it to be suspicious. Police were unable to catch up to the vehicle before it go onto 93 South. (2:33pm)
  • A caller reported a large dead animal, possibly a dog, on the side of the road at Shawsheen Avenue and Richmond Street. Animal Control Officer responded and found a large raccoon. (4:36pm)
  • Woburn Police Department called in an erratic operator driving a gray 2007 Jeep Wrangler on the wrong side of the road. Police located the vehicle down by the old dump on Old Main Street.  Youths were advised and a parent was called to the scene. Situation was all clear. (7:44pm)
  • An anonymous caller reported a group of youths standing on the corner of Stuart and Marion Street.  Police spoke with the youths, who said they were headed to a home on Marion Street. Police advised them to stay on the sidewalk. (10:05pm)
  • Police checked in on a suspicious vehicle in the Town Hall parking lot.  Parties were advised and sent on their way. (11:16pm)
