What Questions Should I Ask At Upcoming Candidates Night?

WILMINGTON, MA – Wilmington voters! This is your one chance to hear directly from and meet all the candidates running for Selectmen and School Committee before the April 23rd Town Election.

Wilmington’s annual “Candidates Night” will take place on Tuesday, April 5, 6:30pm-9pm, from the studios of Wilmington Community Television (10 Waltham Street).

The evening’s schedule, as outlined in an invitation sent out to candidates, is as follows:

  • 6:30pm-7pm“Meet The Candidates” Reception
  • 7pm-8pm Q&A with unopposed School Committee candidates Peggy Kane (incumbent), Julie Broussard (incumbent) and Thomas Talbot
  • 8pm-9pm Debate between Selectmen candidates — Greg Bendel, Kevin Caira, Joseph Lavino and Thomas Miller

The event will be moderated by Wilmington Town Moderator Robert Peterson, Jr.

A panel of local reporters and editors from the Wilmington Town Crier, Wilmington Advocate and Lowell Sun will ask the candidates questions.  The moderator will also ask questions submitted by the Wilmington Patch (school committee race) and the Wilmington Apple (selectmen race).

This annual event is sponsored by the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce, Reading Co-Operative Bank, Wilmington Community Television, and Wilmington Town Crier.

For voters who cannot attend Wilmington Candidates Night, WCTV will telecast it live on Comcast (Channel 22) and Verizon (Channel 38).  The event will also be streamed live online HERE.
