WILMINGTON, MA — Here are five things that happened at Monday night’s Board of Selectmen Meeting.
#1) The Board of Selectmen unanimously approved the request of Dana Burnham, President of the Wilmington Farmers Market Association, to conduct a Farmers Market on the Swain Green from 10am to 1pm on Sundays, from June 12 through October 9. Hull will explore if it’s possible for the Market to be open on Sunday, July 3 without interfering with the Fun on the Fourth celebration.
#2) The Board of Selectmen unanimously approved the request of Wilmington Memorial Library Director Tina Stewart to throw a “End of Summer Reading Bash” on the Swain Green on Thursday, August 11, from 5pm to 8pm. The event will feature live music, games, prizes and fun activities for all ages. A light supper and snacks will be available for purchase.
#3) The Board of Selectmen unanimously approved the request of the Memorial Day Parade Committee to conduct a parade on Monday, May 30. Veterans Agent Lou Cimaglia noted that any organization looking to march in the parade should contact his office (978-694-2040, veterans@wilmingtonma.gov) for an application and rule book.
#4) The Board of Selectmen uanimously ratified the Town Manager’s appointment of Joseph E. Muse to the Wilmington Historical Commission. Selectmen Chair Mike Champoux thanked Mr. Muse for stepping forward to serve his community.
#5) The Board of Selectmen unanimously renewed the taxi cab license for Wilmington Taxi and the Taxi Cab Operator’s License for Timothy J. Flynn. Selectmen also unanimously approved the requests of Joseph Dulock, Nicholas Dulock, and Steven Dulock to receive a “Hawk & Pedle License” to sell ice cream in town.
