WILMINGTON, MA — The Boston Metro Hi-Railers is holding an Open House on Saturday, April 9, from 10am to 4pm, at its 5 Waltham Street headquarters.
Admission costs $5 per person and $10 per family. Children under 10 are admitted free. Refreshments will be available.
About Boston Metro Hi-Railers
Boston Metro Hi-Railers is model train club with the largest O-gauge model train layout in Massachusetts.
Over 100 train sets are on display or in operation. Special hands-on operating train layout for children. Open houses are held three to four times a year, and club memberships are also available.
The club operates on an O-gauge train track layout, which is the size many will remember from their youth when Lionel trains were a favorite gift. The club has two operating layouts, with more than 2,000 feet of track. Collectively, members have more than 150 locomotives, 400 passenger cars and more than 500 freight cars, and up to 12 sets of trains can be run at the same time.
