POLICE LOG for March 20: Shady Solicitation; Morning Marijuana; Summons Issued

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are SEVEN highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Sunday, March 20, 2016:

  • Rafael Velasquez (52, Cambridge) was issued a summons for having an uninsured motor vehicle and failure to dim headlights. (2:41am)
  • An anonymous caller reported two younger males in a black 2012 Toyota Rav4 were in front of her in the Heavenly Donuts drive-thru, possibly smoking marijuana. Police spoke with both males.  There was a faint order, but nothing was found in the vehicle. (11:27am)
  • A caller reported boys were pouring a bright green liquid into the stream on Butters Row.  Police checked the area and could not locate the boys in question. (2:31pm)
  • Police gave a verbal warning to a black 2013 Toyota Camry parked in the fire line at Market Basket. (4:26pm)
  • Market Basket manager reported two females were soliciting donations for Unicef in the store.  They claimed they had permission from Market Basket’s corporate office, but they did not.  They left the store in a Black Audii with Florida plates operated by a male. Police were unable to locate the vehicle. (5:11pm)
  • A Dollar Tree employee reported suspicious activity — possibly shoplifting — from a male and female. (5:21pm)
  • Police noted suspicious activity at the Town Park (April Field) on Main Street. Employee from Koch Membrane and his girlfriend were eating dinner on his break. Both were sent on their way. (10:54pm)
