Eleanor Cameron (Gillis), age 82, a life-long resident of Wilmington, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on March 24, 2016. Eleanor was the beloved wife of William C. Cameron, devoted mother of Kevin Cameron & wife Denise of Claremont, NH, Erin Cameron of Andover, Kerry Feyler & husband Dave of Wilmington, and the late Lisa Cameron. Loving “Grandma” of Kasey, Ryan & wife Stephanie, and Anne Marie Cameron, Danny and Michael Feyler, and great-granddaughter Taya Cameron. Cherished daughter of the late Malcolm and Annie (Connors) Gillis, dear sister of Edward Gillis & his late wife Kay of Wilmington, Richard Gillis & wife Joyce of Lexington, the late George, James, John & late wife Beverly, Mary V. “Mimi”, and Mary Theresa Gillis. Sister-in-law of Dorothy Gillis of North Reading and Peg Rogers of Peabody. Eleanor is also survived by many special nieces, nephews, and friends.
Family & friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Tuesday, March 29th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington, at 10:00 a.m. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Visiting Hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday, March 28th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Memorial donations in Eleanor’s name may be made to VNA of Middlesex East and Visiting Nurse Hospice, 607 North Ave., Suite 17, Wakefield, MA 01880.
