SENIOR CENTER SPOTLIGHT: Center Runs Successful Home Delivered Meals Program

WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Department of Elderly Services runs a very successful  Home Delivered Meals Program. This program provides the homebound elders of Wilmington with one hot meal five days a week for the minimal cost of a $2.00 a meal.

Elders rely not only on these meals, but also the daily contact. The drivers are responsible to return to the Senior Center after their deliveries to give an update on the elders they visit. The elders and their families are assured that if there should be a problem during the time of the delivery, the elder will be assisted and the families will be notified.

Call 978-657-7595 to request service. An application be found HERE.  Doctors may fax notes to 978-657-4807.

Some of Wilmington’s statehouse delegation — State Senator Bruce Tarr and State Representative Jim Miceli — recently stopped by the Center to offer their support to the program.  Tweets are from the Elderly Services Director Terri Marciello.
