Analog Devices To Host Science & Tech Fair At Wilmington Middle School

WILMINGTON, MA — Analog Devices Inc. will sponsor the 15th annual Science and Tech Fair at Wilmington Middle School from 7:30 a.m. to 1:40 p.m. on April 1 in Rooms 247 and 248, Wilmington Middle School, 25 Carter Lane.

Analog Devices specializes in high-performance semiconductors and will host the fair for approximately 300 students in grade 7. Analog Devices will promote science and technology education through demonstrations, hands-on activities and a fact-finding competition. The best time to visit the fair is from 9 to 11 a.m.

About 50 engineers from Analog Devices will partner with students to conduct hands-on experiments. Activities will include electrical wiring, shortwave radios, soldering practice, magnets and electromagnets, strobe light demonstrations, hands-on shop activities (drilling, etc.), a Geiger counter demonstration and a dry-ice demonstration. Also featured will be a detailed description of how Analog Devices’ integrated circuits are manufactured, including hands-on viewing through a microscope. As part of the fair, students will participate in a fact-finding competition, with prizes awarded to the winners.

Analog Devices has hosted the Wilmington Science and Technology Fair for approximately 15 years and has supported local students through the Wilmington School Business Partnership program for over 20 years.
