BILLERICA, MA — The Shawsheen Tech (100 Cook Street, Billerica) is hosting TechJam on Thursday, April 21, from 9am to 2pm.
TechJam is a day of technology discovery featuring demonstrations, interactive workshops, exhibitions and prizes to engage and inspire 6th through 8th graders while building awareness of STEM education and career paths.
Students will get hands-on with some amazing technology including robots, drones, music and video, media, solar power, gaming, app programming and more – with experts from Microsoft, UMass Lowell, iRobot, and Shawsheen Tech.
TechJam Zones include:
- Drone Zone
- Robotics and Drone Demos
- Cyber Zone
- Coding
- Web & App Design Maker Zone
- 3-D Printing & Machining
- Gaming Zone
- Microsoft Gaming Creative Art Zone
- Music and Video Demos
Door prizes for all participants, offered by Microsoft Corporation.
Grand Prize Raffles include:
- Xbox One 500GB Console, a copy of Minecraft for Xbox One, and a 3-month subscription to Xbox Live Gold
- Acer Aspire One Cloudbook Laptop with Windows 10, and one year of Office 365
