Independent Consulting: Get off the Employment Merry-Go Round *RR

In this session, Jim Connell, President of the Society of Independent Consultants, will review prerequisites, advantages, disadvantages, and resources for launching your career as a consultant.
Movie Night The Big Short *RR

Tom O’Carroll in Song *RR

Join Tom O’Carroll, Dublin born folklorist, folk-singer and instrumentalist, who brings a wealth of stories, humor, wit and history to his performances. Whether playing a plaintive air on the tin whistle or singing and playing rousing traditional songs to the accompaniment of the guitar or the bodhrán (Irish drum), Tom will captivate all with his lively program of Irish culture.

Domestic Affairs (cost $20, limit 30)

Spirited discussions of some of the key domestic issues of our time will occur over the four sessions: drug policy, gun control, unions, and criminal justice and police practices. Moderator Keith West will prepare background information to read beforehand. All opinions are welcome.
Friends Annual Meeting
Thursday, March 24, 7 pm
Stop by for an evening of socializing, refreshments, and a chance to win a $100 gift certificate to the Wilmington Recreation Department that can be used towards any event, trip or class. Friends members who attend this event will receive a free raffle entry. New members may join the Friends of the Library that night. A brief business meeting will be held and new officers elected.

Dads and their kids ages 2 and up are invited to drop in for stories, songs, rhymes and more. Moms, grandparents and other caregivers are welcome, too! Ages: 2-5 and one or more adults.
Spring Scavenger Hunt

Spring bunnies will be hiding all around the children’s room from Monday, March 14 to Saturday, March 26. Find nine bunnies dressed up as book characters. Submit your entry for a chance to win a prize! All ages

Library News
New York Times Digital Edition
The library now offers complimentary access to the daily New York Times digital edition. Just go to the library’s web site http://www.wilmlibrary.org , then click on “Downloads.” Scroll down to “Magazines and Newspapers” and select “New York Times.” Click “Redeem.” You will first have to register an account. You can then enjoy 72 hours of free digital access. After 72 hours, you will just have to click redeem again.
Poetry Contest
The theme of this year’s Annual Poetry Contest is “Community.” Theme ideas include Community Helpers, Your Neighborhood, Favorite Place in Your Community or Favorite Community Event. Applications are available at the library and online. The deadline to submit poems is Saturday, April 16.
