WILMINGTON, MA — The Town of Wilmington recently issued a new request for proposals for a “Clerk of the Work” for the construction of the project.
The clerk ensures the contractor complies with all design specifications, keeps the Town informed of the construction progress and activities, and serves as the liaison between the Town, engineer, and contractor. The RFP can be found online HERE. The estimated value of the contract is $120,000.
Requests are due to the Town Manager’s Office no later than Thursday, March 17 at 10am.
According to the documents, and as Town Officials have previously stated, the park will include:
- A multi-use artificial turf field
- Walking paths
- A playground that serves multiple ages
- A basketball/street hockey court
- Approximately 100 parking spaces
- A concession area and pavilion
- A rain garden
- An event green
- PLUS: interpretive signage, donor recognition & various plantings
Construction on the park is still scheduled to begin this month. Substantial completion is anticipated in November 2016, with all construction associated with the project finished during Spring 2017.
Town Hall will be issuing a press release in the near future with additional details, including which construction firm has received the bid to build the park.
