POLICE LOG for March 1: Complaints Over Pet Geese; Nursing Home Dispute

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are ELEVEN highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Tuesday, March 1, 2016:

  • A caller reported a utility pole was on fire and sparking. Police notified RMLD and the Fire Department. Wire burned through and stopped sparking. (2:01am)
  • Police covered for crossing guard duty at the High School. (6:57am)
  • A gray 2009 Toyota Prius and a 2007 Mack Truck were involved in a minor crash on Ballardvale Street. No injuries reported. (9:03am)
  • Police restored peace as residents were “irate” over tree trimming work being done on Salem Street. (11:31am)
  • A gray 2009 Honda Accord and a green 1994 Geo Prizm were involved in a minor crash on Boutwell Street. No injuries reported. (12:24pm)
  • Caller reported property damage from geese belonging to 35 Moore Street. Animal Control Officer contacted owner. Geese owner agreed to put up a fence on their property.  Caller was satisfied. (2:52pm)
  • A Cobalt Street resident reported receiving scam calls. (3:38pm)
  • Police reported the peace between a verbal dispute among visitors at the Woodbriar Nursing Home on West Street. (6:19pm)
  • A Marion Street resident reported identity theft. (8:42pm)
  • K9 Ridic underwent training at the Shriners Auditorium. (8:45pm)
  • Police assisted State Police in locating a vehicle involved in a hit & run on 93 North. (10:44pm)
