POLICE LOG for February 28: ATV Drivers Cited; Suspected Drug Activity

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are SIX highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Sunday, February 28, 2016:

  • Debris from tires was found in the roadway on Aldrich Road. Police moved it all to the side of the road and notified DPW. (5:24am)
  • Robert Foss, Jr. (27, Wilmington) was issued a summons for having an uninsured motor vehicle, no inspection sticker, and a motor vehicle lights violation. Foss was pulled over on Burlington Avenue. (7:22am)
  • Caller reported two vehicles were in the Town Beach parking lot and it appeared the occupants were using drugs.  Police responded and saw no signs of drug use.  Occupants were actually just using the beach. (10:44am)
  • State Environmental Police issued citations to two operators of ATV’s on Old Main Street.  Both ATV’s were towed. (1:59pm)
  • A Newark Avenue caller reported an oven fire, but quickly called back to say it was out. (2:02pm)
  • Reports of a group fighting in the parking lot of Town Hall.  Police responded.  Group stated they were just “fooling around.”  Police sent the group on their way. (6:50pm)
