POLICE LOG for February 27: Car Thief Arrested; Drug Arrest; Double Dog Dare

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are SIX highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Saturday, February 27, 2016:

  • Police observed suspicious behavior on Federal Street.  A male party was out of his vehicle on a dare to run 100 down the street in the cold.(12:39am)
  • James Murphy (22, Malden) was arrested for larceny of a motor vehicle.  Murphy was initially pulled over prior to Exit 39 for a marked lanes violation. (2:07am)
  • A caller reported a tire came off of the car in front of him on Main Street near Market Basket.  Driver of the brown 2000 Buick Park Avenue seemed unaware and continued operation of vehicle. Police located tire, identified driver, and returned tire to owner.  Driver said she had driven without the tire to Woburn. (8:17am)
  • A gray 2012 Chevy Silverado and a blue 2002 Cadillac Seville were involved in a minor crash at Rizzo’s on Church Street. (11:38am)
  • Kevin Castro (19, Everett) was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and no inspection sticker. (2:03pm)
  • Stephen G. Rice (54, Wilmington) was arrested for possession of a Class E drug. Woburn Police notified Wilmington of a white 2001 Volvo driving erratically entering Wilmington. Rice was pulled over on Main Street near Bank of America. (11:20pm)
