POLICE LOG for February 23: WPD Captures Fugitive; Cadillac Crashes Into Woods

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are EIGHT highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Tuesday, February 23, 2016:

  • Police officers were flagged down by a motorist reporting an elderly woman wearing a nightgown walking in the area.  Police located the woman and drove her back home. (12:30am)
  • A fugitive of justice — Ramon Castro (32, Dorchester) — was arrested on many warrants, including operating with a suspended license, multiple vehicle charges, multiple breaking & enterings, possession to distribute Class B and Class C drugs, assault & battery, and attempt to commit a crime.  Castro was pulled over in a black 2004 Infinity at McDonald Road and Salem Street. (12:33am)
  • Police received report of a female in the area of Chili’s on Main Street begging cars for change/money. A second call stated she just entered CVS. Police spoke with the woman and advised her. (8:43am)
  • Matthew Brian Jones (32, Billerica) was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, operating a motor vehicle with a revoked registration, an uninsured motor vehicle, and no inspection sticker. (9:43am)
  • The ‘no left turn’ sign is report missing from the Wilmington Plaza exit. (2:04pm)
  • Kevin Costanzo (22, Burlington) was issued a summons for operating a motor vehilce with a revoked registration, uninsured motor vehicle, and no inspection sticker. (2:08pm)
  • K9 Ridic underwent training at the Whitfield School site. (5:22pm)
  • A black 2005 Cadillac crashed into the woods on Hopkins Street, striking a Verizon pole, fire hydrant, and speed limit sign. Police notified Verizon, Water Department and DPW. Vehicle towed. No injuries reported. (11:23pm)
